Starting from September 2026, pensions will be increased for Russians who turn 80 in August, as well as for citizens who receive a Group I disability for the first time. This was reported by Igor Balynin, an associate professor at the Department of Public Finance of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, to RIA Novosti.
For these categories of pensioners, an increase in the fixed payment to the old-age insurance pension is provided, doubling it. Additionally, starting from 2025, a care allowance will be included in its composition.
As of January 1, 2026, the fixed payment amounts to 9,584.69 rubles, and the care allowance is 1,413.86 rubles. If a pensioner simultaneously reaches the age of 80 and receives Group I disability for the first time, the increase will be assigned based on only one of the grounds.
According to Balynin, if before reaching 80 years old the insurance pension along with the fixed payment amounted to 32,545 rubles, after recalculation its size may increase to 43,543.55 rubles.
