      A road connecting the railway station, Zarechny, and Sortirovka will be built in Yekaterinburg. Yesterday at 17:17, it was announced that Zarechny and Sortirovka will be linked to the railway station by a new street. The road will be laid along Heroes of Russia Street, passing near the closed "Yekaterinburg-Freight" station. The project has been put forward for public discussion.

      The "Freight Yard" station covers an area of 17.5 hectares within the boundaries of Chelyuskintsev Street, Heroes of Russia Street, Kimovskaya Street, the Production Lane, and the railway detour. Documentation indicates that Heroes of Russia Street will become a main arterial road of citywide significance. Its width will range from 42 to 48 meters, with a carriageway width of 20.5 to 23.5 meters. A dividing strip 3 meters wide will separate the lanes. The number of traffic lanes in one direction will be two, and in the opposite direction from two to three. Buses and trams are planned for passenger transportation. A line totaling 1.71 kilometers will be laid for railcars, according to E1.RU with reference to the documentation.

      The reconstruction of Heroes of Russia Street will take into account the development of an industrial zone near the station, where dozens of new buildings will be constructed. The residential stock will amount to 515,000 square meters.

      It was previously reported that a dead-end street in the center of Yekaterinburg will be extended, changing the traffic scheme.
