Football club Ural is prepared to take Moscow's Torpedo's place in the Premier League if the provincial club is suspended from participating in the RPL after the scandal. This was reported to KP-Ekaterinburg by Ural president Grigory Ivanov.

As "Championship" reports, Torpedo (Moscow) was excluded from the top division for attempting to organize fixed matches. The RFU Executive Committee's bureau approved Orenburg as the 16th participant of the league, according to the publication.

In the concluded season, Orenburg finished second to last (15th place) in the RPL and was relegated to the First League, where Ural will compete for the second year.

      — Only we suffered from Torpedo's actions! Orenburg was relegated on sporting merit. We are fully prepared to participate in the Premier League. We should be entering the RPL. Let's wait for the KDK decision. There are always chances, — said Grigory Ivanov in an interview with KP-Ekaterinburg.

FC Ural lost their Premier League spot last May after losing the playoff matches to Akron from Tolyatti.

UPD. The Russian Football Union announced its decision to include Orenburg in the Premier League lineup instead of Moscow's Torpedo, reports Interfax. The decision was made at the RFU Executive Committee bureau meeting on Friday. Torpedo was included in the lineup of the First League (the second-tier division in domestic football, which Ural currently competes in).
