In Yekaterinburg, money was deducted from a driver for parking during free hours
Today at 09:55 All paid parking lots in Yekaterinburg become free for 12 hours a day — from 8:00 pm to 8:00 am. The city head signed a resolution on this back on June 19, as reported by E1.RU. However, drivers mysteriously continued to be charged.
According to residents who shared their experiences on the E1.RU Telegram channel, they made payments without knowing they could leave their cars for free. And the payment—voila!—was processed. For example, Yekaterinburg resident Anastasia posted a parking receipt from July 20 — when the new rules had already been in effect for a month, writes section editor Yulia Zabaylovich on E1.RU.
According to Anastasia, she was unaware of the free hours and used paid parking for the first time. She parked from 9:00 pm to midnight. She paid through the parking kiosk. In three hours, she was charged 150 rubles.
"This was a temporary glitch exclusively with the old terminals; the cause of the malfunction has been fixed," — responded E1.RU from the "City Parking Service."
These words are confirmed by another reader, Anna, who also was unaware of the free hours. "We arrived at the parking lot and paid at 7:08 pm for two hours, but it turned out that they actually deducted payment for 52 minutes," — she recounted.
The mayor's office promised to investigate the glitches, as well as the information provided to those using paid parking.
"At the same time, a process has been launched to install signs indicating the operating hours of paid parking," — emphasized the city hall.
