Preliminary investigations indicate that the daughter of the homeowner arrived at the garden property with two children aged 6 and 3 months on the weekend. She invited a friend with two children aged 16 and 6 to visit the parental dacha. A 17-year-old youth, a friend of the 16-year-old girl, also arrived with them.
The exact cause of the fire will be determined after a fire-technical examination. Various versions are being considered, including an electrical wiring fault in the room on the first floor.
According to the prosecutor's office, the alarm about the fire was received by emergency services today, July 26, at 03:39. During the fire extinguishing efforts by EMERCOM personnel, the bodies of four people—an adult woman and three children aged 17, 3 months, and 6 years—were found.
Another 6-year-old child was hospitalized with burns covering 60% of the body surface. A woman was also hospitalized with various injuries.
Two children were prescribed outpatient treatment.
