Rocket debris will fall over Sverdlovsk Region
Today at 12:49, residents of Karpinsk were warned about the imminent fall of debris from the Soyuz-2.1b launch vehicle, scheduled for August 20 from Baikonur Cosmodrome. This was announced by the city administration's press service.
— The falling of the rocket’s component parts is planned over Sverdlovsk Region and Perm Krai, — the agency noted.
It is expected that upon entering the lower atmosphere layers, the debris of the rocket stages will produce a loud crash and glow in the sky. To ensure safety, a ban on being in the area where debris might fall is introduced. Restrictions will be in effect from August 18 to August 22.
The restricted area includes territory within 20 kilometers north of Kytlym, 10-12 kilometers northwest of Kakvinskie Pechi, 17 kilometers west of Sosnovka, 4-5 kilometers south of the Denezhkin Stone reserve, and 2-3 kilometers north of the Konzhakovsky mountain range.
It should be reminded that at the end of last year, rocket debris also fell in the Karpinsk area.
