An 80-year-old grandmother from Sverdlovsk may lose her apartment over a microloan.
Natalya Kiseleva from Pervouralsk may lose her only home — a two-room apartment — because of a microloan of 100,000 rubles. She told the portal E1.RU about it.
According to her, in 2018 her daughter was killed and she was forced to take out a 100,000-ruble loan for the funeral. Shortly after, her husband became ill and died, and she had to borrow again. She was unable to repay the loans, so for several years half of her pension was seized by court order, and she was later declared bankrupt.
In March 2025 Natalya Kiseleva was looking for someone to lend her 10,000 rubles. She found a company in an ad that promised to arrange a loan without paperwork and regardless of credit history. The pensioner came from Pervouralsk to the office of the Paritet credit center in Yekaterinburg. She was initially refused a loan, so she began asking for at least a thousand to get back home. She was told there was another option — to take a 100,000-ruble loan secured by her home.
The woman agreed and signed up for a loan at 120% per annum. The contracts were drawn up in the name of an individual — an unknown woman from the town of Berezniki in the Perm region — because by law microfinance organizations are prohibited from issuing loans secured by real estate.
But she was given only 50,000 rubles in cash. The rest was taken from her as fees, while interest was charged on the full 100,000. The pensioner could not repay the loan from her pension. Now the pensioner risks being left without a home.
“In this case there are signs of an exploitative deal. The 80-year-old woman found herself in a dire situation, could not get back home, and was offered to put up her apartment as collateral. The deal was concluded by misleading Natalya Grigoryevna, because she did not realize that she could lose her home over 50,000,” E1.RU quotes lawyer Vladimir Bronnikov as saying.
Now she and Natalya Grigoryevna are preparing to challenge the contract in court.
