Authorities in Yekaterinburg have found a possible replacement for Rospetchat kiosks.
In Yekaterinburg, the kiosks of Rospechat may be replaced by the company Street‑Press from the Nizhny Novgorod region, the mayor’s press service told Ura.RU.
"Street‑Press is engaged in the distribution of printed products, including in federal grocery retail. Negotiations are underway with them," the city administration told the publication.
The company operates in 60 regions of Russia.
Recall that the mass demolition of Rospechat kiosks began in Yekaterinburg in July 2025. By September, all retail outlets of this chain will be gone from the streets of Yekaterinburg.
Earlier, a Rospechat representative said that the closure of kiosks selling newspapers and magazines in Yekaterinburg could snowball into the closure of the press distribution network across the entire Sverdlovsk Region. It was also reported that the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade had been asked to leave Rospechat’s kiosks in the city.
