In the Pyshminsky District of Sverdlovsk Oblast a father killed his 29-year-old son. It all happened in May. The young man had started playing "Tanki," was swearing loudly and kept his parents awake. The father admonished him; in response the son beat him. The mother came out at the screams; he attacked her as well.
The father then went to the kitchen, where the son later came out. In a mirror the man noticed the young man had a knife. The father grabbed a knife from the table and struck his son in the chest and head. The young man died.
A criminal case on murder was opened against the man, which was heard by the Kamyshlovsky District Court. Ultimately the court decided to reclassify the charge as "murder committed by exceeding the limits of self-defense," E1.RU reports.
"The court took into account the aggressive behavior of the victim at the time of the incident, previous instances of bodily harm inflicted by the son and the reality of the defendant's perception of the threat," the press service of the Sverdlovsk Region courts said.
The defendant avoided a real prison term. The court sentenced him to one year and two months' restriction of freedom with a ban on leaving the area, monthly registration with a supervisory authority and a prohibition on changing his place of residence without the consent of the supervising body.
