Residents of the Sverdlovsk Region will be able to observe a total lunar eclipse on the evening of September 7, the Moscow Planetarium reported.
According to experts, the entire event, including the partial phases, will last about three and a half hours. At the moment of maximum phase, which will be 1.36, the Moon will pass through the southern part of Earth's shadow. Its upper, northern edge will appear darker.
Vladilen Sanakoev, an engineer at UrFU's teaching observatory and an astronomer, told URA.RU that the penumbral stage of the eclipse will begin at 20:28:25. The maximum phase is expected at 23:11:47, and the event will end at 23:52:51. The total umbral phase will last 1 hour 22 minutes.
