The temperature across Russia in the coming days will be around or above normal.
There will be no regions in Russia where temperatures are forecast to be below normal in the period up to September 15, Interfax was told by the scientific director of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center, Roman Vilfand.
"If you look at the forecast from September 5 to 15, there are no regions across the country where temperatures would be below normal. The weather is particularly warm in the north of the European part of Russia, the northern Urals and northern Siberia," Vilfand told Interfax.
In the listed regions temperatures are forecast to be 5–7 degrees Celsius above normal for an extended period. The expert clarified that in the warm season, which includes September, this is a "dangerous phenomenon."
In the northern Urals, namely in the Yamalo-Nenets and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrugs, temperatures on the weekend and on Monday are expected to be 6–7 degrees above normal and will reach up to +15…+19 °C and +21…+22 °C.
"These are very, very high temperatures," Vilfand clarified.
