Yekaterinburg residents reacted differently to the cost of the holiday performances. Some consider the prices justified:

— "The Nutcracker is a symbol of the New Year, and tickets are expensive everywhere," Anastasia noted.
— "Our theatre is one of the best in the country. People buy, there are no tickets — why lower prices?" Natalya wrote.
Other viewers, however, consider the cost unaffordable:
— "The Nutcracker on December 31? Is it for show or what? There are plenty of other days; you can go cheaper," Svetlana said.
— "I wanted to buy tickets, but for two in the stalls it would cost 16–20 thousand, and the balconies are already sold out."
