In Yekaterinburg, a teenager on an electric scooter sprayed a pepper spray canister in the face of a man who was walking with his wife and children. The victim suffered a chemical burn to his eyes and is at risk of losing his sight, his wife Veronika told E1.RU.
The incident occurred on September 5 near building No. 46/5 on Akademika Parina Street. The family was returning from kindergarten when two teenagers on electric scooters rode up to them.
“Our eldest son was riding ahead on his bicycle. We saw that the teenagers were rushing straight at the child; I screamed in fright,” Veronika recalled.
According to her, the young scooter riders turned onto the lawn but did not stop. The man caught up with them and remonstrated. One of the teenagers abandoned his scooter and ran off; the other approached as if to apologize but suddenly took out a pepper spray can and sprayed it into the man’s eyes.
As a result, the victim suffered first-degree burns to his eyelids and the area around his eyes.
“They prescribed drops for my husband and gave an injection directly into his eye. There is a risk that he may lose his sight,” the victim’s wife said.
The family contacted the police; a report has already been filed.
