
Early voting has begun for the elections in Sverdlovsk Oblast.
Early voting has begun in Sverdlovsk Oblast for residents of remote and hard-to-reach areas in the gubernatorial election. According to the regional election commission, voting has been organized for 48 groups of voters in seven municipalities.
“From September 5 to 10, 2025, 21 precinct commissions will conduct early voting for 48 groups of voters in seven municipal formations,” the regional election commission clarified on its Telegram channel.
Deployments have already started in the Bisertsky, Garinsky, Ivdel, the closed town of Svobodny, Serovsky, Sosvinsky and Shalinsky districts. Off-road vehicles and trains are used to transport commission members to hard-to-reach settlements, and sometimes motorboats.
The first to vote were residents of nine villages in the Ivdel district: Burmantovo, Khorpiya, Vizhay, Ushma, Pakina, Ponil, Glukharny, Severny and Shipichny. Four precinct commissions are administering the vote there.
The gubernatorial election in Sverdlovsk Oblast is scheduled for September 14.
Earlier, Yekaterinburg Mayor Alexey Orlov said whether he is indeed leaving his post. One of the candidates for governor of Sverdlovsk Oblast has withdrawn from the race. Alexander Ivachev has been nominated as the Communist Party’s candidate for governor of Sverdlovsk Oblast. Mayor Orlov explained his participation in the gubernatorial election. Pasler’s opponent is changing his surname ahead of the gubernatorial election in Sverdlovsk Oblast.
