In a city in the Sverdlovsk region, a 14-year-old teenager died during hockey practice.
On September 9, in Asbest, at the State Autonomous Institution of Additional Education of the Sverdlovsk Region sports school "Khrizotil", a 14-year-old athlete died during hockey practice.
"The practice started at 4:30 p.m. We went out onto the ice, warmed up, I called everyone to the board, explained the exercise we were going to do. I divided everyone into four groups, we began to perform it," the boy's coach told the E1.RU portal.
The teenager managed to do the exercise 3–4 times, stood in line, dropped to his knees, went limp and fell onto the ice.
"We have an on-duty doctor. I immediately called the second coach. We took the boy under the arms and handed him over to the medics. They tried to resuscitate him," the man from Sverdlovsk added.
The young man was taken to intensive care, but the doctors were unable to save him. Previously the teenager had no health problems. He had been playing hockey for about nine years.
The Investigative Committee for the Sverdlovsk Region declined to comment on the incident.
Earlier in Yekaterinburg a 17-year-old suffered a stroke and a heart attack at a sports club. Previously he had practiced martial arts for about eight years.
