The results of the investigation into the mass poisoning at the "Olymp Hall" banquet hall in Yekaterinburg have been revealed.
The results of the investigation into the mass poisoning at the "Olymp Hall" banquet hall, which is located in a private cottage on Chkalov Street, have become known. At the beginning of September, guests at a wedding held in this hall fell ill. According to the Sverdlovsk branch of Rospotrebnadzor, everyone contracted an acute intestinal infection. Public health officials registered five cases of norovirus.
"The organizer of the banquet is individual entrepreneur T. V. Sapozhnikova. Food was prepared in the household kitchen by the homeowners. Waitstaff for the banquet were hired via an advertisement from a Telegram channel," Rospotrebnadzor for the Sverdlovsk Region reported.
The agency specified that the owners of the banquet hall used a private well for household purposes that had been improperly constructed. When water samples were taken from the well, pathogenic bacteria and noroviruses were detected.
"The banquet organizer was issued an order to carry out additional sanitary measures, including a prohibition on using the well. The case materials will be forwarded to court for a decision on suspending the activities of the individual entrepreneur," the agency clarified.
