A taxi driver in Yekaterinburg was fined for driving in a bus lane.
In Yekaterinburg, a taxi driver was fined for driving in a lane reserved for public transport. The driver noted that he operates legally. His car was added to the Ministry of Transport’s special register in the summer of 2025, which allowed it to be registered as a taxi.
But the driver was nevertheless issued a fine for illegal movement in the reserved lane. Only one ruling came — from a traffic camera at 35 Belinskogo Street. Although previously the taxi driver had been freely driving in reserved lanes in other parts of the city.
— I have a taxi license, the taxi sign is in place. But the traffic police issued a fine, the taxi driver told E1.RU.
The traffic police in the Sverdlovsk Region commented on the situation as follows:
— If the driver disagrees with the decision issued in the case of an administrative offence, he may appeal it within the time limit established by law and in the manner strictly regulated by Chapter 30 of the Code of the Russian Federation on Administrative Offences, the traffic police noted.
Kirill Formanchuk, chairman of the Committee for the Protection of Motorists’ Rights, believes the taxi driver has a chance to have the fine overturned, since the license was valid at the time he drove in the reserved lane.
Earlier it was reported that a woman from Yekaterinburg parked a carsharing vehicle near her building and received a hefty fine.
