The environmental station for separate waste collection "Sort with Mega" has resumed operations at the Mega shopping centre in Yekaterinburg, the city administration reported.
The eco-station accepts 16 waste fractions: clothing, batteries, Tetra Pak packaging, various types of plastic, cardboard and paper, metal, small household appliances, as well as three types of glass. Waste can be dropped off daily from 10:00 to 22:00.
Since August 1 the separately collected waste has been hauled by the operator "Phoenix", EAN agency writes. The company is led by Natalya Zubova, the former director of Spetsavtobaza.
"Phoenix" intends to sell the collected waste through an online platform to recyclers across the country who have the necessary capacity.
Recall that since March last year the Mega centres have been owned by Gazprombank. The previous owners of the business, the Swedish Ingka Group, have left Russia.
