Gortrans reported a shortage of hundreds of drivers in Yekaterinburg.
Deputy Director of Gortrans Andrey Ivshin said that in Yekaterinburg there is a shortage of 75 trolleybus drivers and 168 tram drivers needed to fulfill gross contracts.
"If we look at contractual obligations, we are short 75 trolleybus drivers and 168 tram drivers. According to the roster there should be 615 tram drivers and 400 trolleybus drivers. The situation requires some attention," the EAN outlet quotes Ivshin.
The deputy director added that after the introduction of gross contracts and wage increases the number of trainees learning the professions has grown. Nevertheless, not all trainees complete the courses.
"The training process is very long. People think it's like driving school: they pass the rules, sit down and drive. But it's more complicated here; besides the rules you need to know how the vehicles work. There is an outflow of trainees," the Gortrans representative clarified.
Earlier, Yekaterinburg's Gortrans disclosed the number of drivers who returned after the pay increase.
