      It has been revealed which routes the first three-section "Kastor" trams will run on. They are planned to be deployed on routes 1 (Akademika Parina — Vtorchermet), 6 (TsPKiO — Mashinostroiteley), 13 (40 let VLKSM — 7 Klyuchey) and 15 (Vtorchermet — 40 let VLKSM).

      According to a source at E1.RU, these trams are constantly overcrowded. And the "Kastors" can carry more passengers than conventional tram cars.

      Recall that Yekaterinburg plans to purchase 15 such trams in total. The first two are to be sent to the Akademichesky district. About 2.7 billion rubles were allocated for the new units, but in the course of the tender they were acquired from the Ust-Katav plant (Chelyabinsk region) for 2.1 billion.

      The three-section set measures 25.8 meters in length; its total capacity is 261 passengers, 64 of them seated. Delivery is scheduled for January 2026, but they may arrive earlier. The 15 trams are the first batch; a second batch will include another 35 trams.

      Earlier it was reported that the Yekaterinburg administration will hold 12 auctions for new tram routes to use the three-section cars.
