A local resident told the E1.RU portal that this is the third utility accident in three months. Boiling water is damaging belongings in the apartments; residents have had to carry out repairs more than once. Floods occurred on June 28, September 2 and 24. The building was completed in 2019, so it's fairly new.
"It's flooding so badly that boiling water is ankle‑deep in the stairwell and apartments! This has been going on for three months; the residents are at their breaking point," the Yekaterinburg resident complained.
The building is managed by the Akademicheskaya housing company. Hot water has been turned off in the building while the fault is being fixed.
"According to the emergency dispatch service, there is a leak in the collector on the second floor of the building at 73 Sakharova Street. The emergency service is on site to promptly resolve the situation," Akademicheskaya clarified.
Earlier, residents of a high‑rise in the Southwest were left without electricity and water due to the flood.
