This morning, September 25, at School No. 122 in Staraya Sortirovka, senior students staged a strike and refused to go to classes. They decided to stand up for the PE teacher who was going to be fired.
Parents of several students said that Alexander Grigoryevich, in addition to PE lessons, runs a basketball club. During a training session one of the students broke his arm.
— Then the principal deceived the PE teacher into writing a resignation, threatening that a criminal case would be opened against him. The parents have no complaints about the teacher. But the principal does not know how to communicate with teachers, parents, or children, — the mother of one of the students told the E1.RU portal.
The parents decided to unite and asked the teacher not to submit a resignation. Before classes the senior students gathered in the foyer and asked for the teacher to be returned, but the children were quickly dispersed to their classrooms.
The school principal told the E1.RU portal that there had been no strike and that everyone is now in lessons.
— He submitted his resignation yesterday in a fit of emotion; today he has already withdrawn it. He is in class now, — said school principal Svetlana Melnichuk.
When asked what had caused the teacher’s outburst, the principal replied that nothing had happened at all. Nevertheless, the parents plan to submit a collective appeal to the Department of Education.
Earlier, at a Yekaterinburg school, students were required to provide their parents’ personal data.
