A forensic medical examination confirmed that the victim suffered minor injuries. The regional police headquarters described the incident as a domestic dispute.
"It all happened off duty; the officer was not in uniform. The conflict between the neighbors had lasted many years. An internal inquiry is underway. If, during the course of the trial, the official in question is found guilty, he will be dismissed from the Ministry of Internal Affairs on negative grounds. A preventive measure has been chosen against the precinct officer — an undertaking to appear," said the press secretary of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Sverdlovsk Region, Valeriy Gorelykh.
The Investigative Committee added that a criminal case has been opened against the precinct officer for intentionally causing minor harm to health with the use of an object resembling a weapon. The maximum penalty under this article is two years' imprisonment, writes E1.RU.
