The Yekaterinburg court may issue a ruling on the lawsuit seeking to nationalize "Oblkommunenergo" as early as Wednesday.
The motion to enter into a settlement concerning the nationalization of JSC Oblkommunenergo was put forward at the court hearing on October 6 in the Leninsky District Court of Yekaterinburg by Corporation STS, Kommersant‑Ural reports.
A source told Kommersant‑Ural that the judge rejected the defendant’s motion to enter into a settlement. The prosecutor noted that the supervisory authority does not enter into such agreements.
The source also noted that a final decision may be issued at the next hearing on October 8.
In addition to Oblkommunenergo, dozens of other companies whose beneficiaries are Bikov and Bobrov are to be transferred to state ownership.
Earlier in September it was reported that the court granted the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office’s motion to consider the case in a closed session (without journalists and members of the public). It is also known that Corporation STS declared its readiness, “in the interests of resolving the situation,” to return Oblkommunenergo to state ownership. Alexey Bobrov is currently in custody in connection with a fraud case.
Recall that the Leninsky District Court of the Ural capital is considering a lawsuit by the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office seeking the nationalization of the assets of Ural businessmen Artem Bikov and Alexey Bobrov. The suit states that in 2015 the holding company Corporation STS, associated with Bikov and Bobrov, illegally privatized Oblkommunenergo, which had belonged to Sverdlovsk Oblast.
