
An officer of the Verkhoturye State Traffic Inspectorate has been detained for the murder of Marat Gainetdinov.
One of the two people detained on suspicion of murdering a 38-year-old resident of Yekaterinburg who went missing on the road from Verkhoturye is an officer of the State Traffic Inspectorate. This follows from an official statement by the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Sverdlovsk Region.
As was reported yesterday, charges under Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder committed by a group of persons by prior agreement) were brought by the Verkhoturye interdistrict investigative department of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Sverdlovsk Region against two local residents.
Today it became known that one of them is an employee of a territorial unit of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate (GIBDD), the regional Investigative Directorate said.
According to the investigation, the murder of the man, born in 1987, was committed on the morning of September 28 in the territory of Verkhoturye District during a conflict that had arisen.
"After committing the unlawful acts, the suspects took measures to conceal the crime and their involvement in what had occurred. As a result of investigative measures, the suspects were identified and detained," the investigative department said.
The accused are in custody. A range of actions is being undertaken in the criminal case to establish all the circumstances of the incident and to collect and secure the evidence.
It is recalled that Marat Gaynetdinov had gone to Verkhoturye as a guest in his foreign-made car. After spending the night as a guest, on the morning of Sunday, September 28, he, as previously reported, set off on the return journey but did not make it home.
