It has been revealed who died in the horrific tractor crash on a Sverdlovsk highway.
The tractor driver, whose actions caused the deaths of a young family and their 4-year-old daughter, has been charged. The tragic road accident occurred on the evening of October 4 near Talitsa.
The tractor driver drove into the oncoming lane and collided with a Kia Rio. The passenger car was almost completely destroyed. Behind the wheel was 27-year-old Evgeny Neupokoev, beside him in the front seat — his 26-year-old wife Alexandra, in the back seat in a child car seat — their 4-year-old daughter, and next to the child — the family's 20-year-old friend Polina. All four died at the scene. The group was traveling from Talitsa to the village of Kazakovskoye.
The tractor driver was identified as 26-year-old Tugulym resident Denis D. The man told police that the vehicle had allegedly made a spontaneous lurch into the oncoming lane. It was also found that he did not have a driver's license.
Investigators opened a criminal case under the article on "Violation of traffic rules resulting in the death of two or more persons by a person not entitled to operate a vehicle." Such a crime carries up to 15 years' imprisonment.
On October 5 the tractor driver was detained for questioning, and on October 6 he was officially charged. The question of a preventive measure will be decided in the near future.
Evgeny and Alexandra Neupokoev had been together for seven years, married in 2020, and in 2021 their daughter was born. In 2022 Evgeny went to the special military operation, and Alexandra supported him throughout his service.
"He received the Order of Courage and the Medal 'For Courage.' Later, because of a concussion, he was transferred to another unit," Evgeny's mother told KP-Yekaterinburg in an interview.
Alexandra's brother Aleksey told E1.RU that Alexandra was the only girl among 12 children in the family.
