In Yekaterinburg, residents of an apartment building were left without electricity, water and heating.
Residents of the three-section building at 38 Bluchera Street in Yekaterinburg have been without electricity, heating and water for almost a day.
According to E1.RU, residents of the Warm Quarters residential complex said the outage occurred on the afternoon of October 11 at around 4:00 p.m. In the building’s chat they are discussing that the cause may have been an accident at a neighboring construction site — eyewitnesses say an excavator damaged the cable that supplied the building with electricity.
After the power went out the elevators stopped working, and residents were stuck in them for some time. Later in the evening a generator was brought into the courtyard to temporarily restore the power supply, but it did not run for long.
“It's cold in the apartments, there is no electricity, the food in the freezer has thawed,” says one of the complex’s residents.
Rosseti Ural explained that the damaged networks do not belong to them. The management company Baza noted that the exact cause of the incident has not yet been established, but the fact of the accident has been recorded.
“An absence of power supply has been recorded due to an emergency situation on the networks. Specialists are already working, but the exact timing of restoration is still unknown. Due to the outage, interruptions in hot and cold water supply, as well as heating, are possible,” the management company said.
