In Sverdlovsk Oblast, doctors saved the life of a man who was nearly crushed against a wall by a bus.

In Serov, a five-ton bus pinned local resident Alexander against a wall while he was working in his garage. The parked vehicle suddenly rolled and literally crushed the man. The victim was rescued by doctors from the city hospital, the regional Ministry of Health’s press service reported.

“Alexander is engaged in passenger transportation and on September 9, as usual, was performing maintenance on the vehicle. At some point the bus that was standing nearby slipped from its place and with all its mass pressed the man against the wall,” the agency clarified.

According to Alexander himself, at that moment his son entered the garage and managed to quickly drive the bus away.

“I managed to get up and reach the bench — on pure adrenaline. By the time the ambulance arrived, I was already losing consciousness,” the man said.

The victim was rushed to the hospital, where doctors immediately began surgery. He was diagnosed with multiple rib fractures, a lung injury and other severe traumas. The medics admit that the chances of survival were minimal, but the team did the impossible.

As Bakhriddin Dostiev, a trauma surgeon at Serov city hospital, said, the doctors were able to stop the internal bleeding in just three minutes. After four days in intensive care and three weeks in the trauma department, Alexander began to recover.

He recently came to the hospital in person to thank his rescuers.
