Demolition of a four-story building located on the grounds of the scandal-ridden 4th vegetable base has begun in Yekaterinburg. An excavator has started tearing down the building at 26 Zavokzalnaya Street.
As readers of E1.RU reported, dismantling of the structure began on October 22. The editorial office sent a request to the city administration’s press service, but was unable to obtain an immediate comment.
According to the Kontur.Fokus service, the plot on which the building stands belongs to LLC “Food Base No. 4.” In 2024 the organization increased its revenue to 24.7 million rubles, but net profit fell to 13.5 million.
The Telegram channel “Yekaterinburg Main” reports that nothing other than warehouse facilities is permitted on the site where the vegetable base is located. Exactly what is happening at the base now is unknown.
“The reworking of the base itself was initiated by the owner, who wants to convert the warehouses/cold-storage facilities for further use of this logistics relic in the center of Yekaterinburg,” Yekaterinburg Main said.
