Scammers have devised a new way to deceive trusting residents of Sverdlovsk via Telegram.
New scam: fraudsters pose as HOA employees and demand that residents disable the building’s fire alarm.
Contact is made via Telegram: the user receives a link to a bot asking them to authenticate. After that the victim receives a message, allegedly from the Gosuslugi portal, warning that someone is trying to take out a loan on their number and asking them to enter a code “to prevent fraud.”
Next, so‑called “Gosuslugi operators” join the conversation and insistently ask for passport details, SNILS and INN. Later in the conversation “representatives of Roskomnadzor” and even “law enforcement agencies” appear.
