In Sverdlovsk Oblast, people are saying goodbye to the little sisters who were killed by a drunk driver.
In Revda on October 30 a farewell ceremony is being held for two little sisters who were killed under the wheels of a car driven by a drunk driver. The funeral service took place at the Church of the Archangel Michael. The girls were 9 and 7 years old.
The tragedy occurred when the children were returning from a shop together with a friend who was heading to visit them. At an intersection they stopped, waiting for the green light. At that moment a Lada passenger car, speeding at high speed, mounted the sidewalk and struck them.
The sisters died at the scene; their friend was hospitalized and is now in the 9th City Hospital of Yekaterinburg.
After the memorial service the priest expressed his condolences to the parents, noting that the tragedy had shaken the whole city.
"This is a high-profile case; the whole city is mourning. The mother's heart is breaking now, I have a storm in my soul. But life goes on," he said, E1.RU reports.
Not only relatives and family friends came to see the girls off for the last time, but also dozens of Revda residents moved by others' grief.
The authorities of Revda, as well as the relatives of the deceased children, had earlier asked the media not to film or photograph the farewell.
