In the Sverdlovsk region a traffic police patrol car crashed while chasing a reckless driver. It happened in the village of Kamyshevo when the driver of a VAZ-2121 "Niva" tried to flee from inspectors after being ordered to stop.
During the pursuit the offender ignored signals to stop. At the intersection on Lenina Street the driver made a sharp left turn and collided with a traffic police car that was driving to his left with its siren on. The impact threw the patrol car into a road sign and a fence. After that the offending driver was detained. No one was injured in the crash, E1.RU reports citing the traffic police press service.
The reckless driver turned out to be a 46-year-old local with eight years of driving experience. He refused to undergo a sobriety test. He faces a hefty fine and suspension of his driver's license for up to two years.
