Enterprises in Yekaterinburg and the Sverdlovsk Region received 7.5 million insects and entomophagous ticks. The shipment arrived from Moscow, Rosselkhoznadzor’s press service reported.
The agency specified that the cargo was accompanied by all necessary veterinary documents issued in the prescribed manner. Laboratory checks did not reveal any violations.
Entomophages are used as a biological method of protecting plants from pests. These insects and arthropods help curb the spread of organisms that damage agricultural crop yields.
In the Sverdlovsk Region, 28,800 people have suffered tick bites since the start of the epidemiological season, which is higher than in the same period last year.
