Scooters have completely disappeared from the streets of Yekaterinburg.
The electric scooter rental season has ended in Yekaterinburg. Kick‑sharing companies have begun removing personal mobility devices from the city streets.
A final meeting with representatives of rental services will be held next week. Authorities will sum up the season, analyze the statistics, and discuss possible changes to the existing agreements.
Three kick‑sharing operators operate in the Ural capital, providing residents with about 16,000 scooters.
At the beginning of the season, for example, new speed restrictions were introduced on accident‑prone sections and in very crowded areas.
In addition, officials from the Yekaterinburg administration, the traffic police (GIBDD) and kick‑sharing services conduct joint patrols. Traffic offenders are fined, and repeat offenders are blocked in the app.
This year rental access was closed for 11,000 users from the Sverdlovsk Region.
It is noted that thanks to the systematic work of the authorities and kick‑sharing companies, the number of violations and traffic accidents involving electric scooters has been significantly reduced in recent years.
