Two people were killed in a traffic accident near Bogdanovich in a collision with an exemplary driver.
Two people became victims of a road accident that occurred overnight between two drivers in the Bogdanovichsky District, the Office of the Russian State Traffic Inspectorate for the Sverdlovsk Region reported on Friday.
The accident occurred at about 00:28 on the 3rd kilometer of the Bogdanovich–Lyapustina–Luch road between a Lexus and a VAZ-2110.
According to preliminary information, the driver of the Lexus, a resident of Tyumen and an employee of one of the road organizations, was driving on a section of the Yekaterinburg–Tyumen highway that had not been commissioned (closed to traffic). Upon entering an uncontrolled intersection of roads of equal priority he failed to yield the right of way to the VAZ-2110, which was approaching from the right and had priority.
As a result of the collision, the driver of the VAZ-2110 and his 33-year-old passenger, both residents of Bogdanovich, died at the scene. A passenger of the Lexus was taken to hospital.
It was established that the 59-year-old driver of the Lexus has 38 years of driving experience and had not previously been held administratively liable. It was also established that the driver of the VAZ-2110 had previously been deprived of his driving license and did not have a valid driver’s license at the time of the accident.
An investigation into the accident is underway. The State Traffic Inspectorate reminds drivers of the need to strictly observe the traffic rules, comply with speed limits and exercise increased caution when passing through intersections.
