In Kamensk-Uralsky, a court has chosen a preventive measure for a driver accused of transporting weapons into IK-47, the Telegram channel of the unified press service of the courts of the Sverdlovsk Region reported on Saturday, November 15.
"Yesterday at IK-47 (maximum-security regime, for repeat offenders — note by Uralweb) a cache of weapons was discovered at the checkpoint during the inspection of a truck. Earlier the press service of the Main Directorate of the Federal Penitentiary Service for the Sverdlovsk Region reported that the following were seized: a Kalashnikov assault rifle with ammunition, a hand grenade, a deactivated pistol with two magazines, a tactical helmet, a tactical backpack, a pouch with medicines, portable radios with batteries, mobile phones and accessories," the regional judicial system press service said.
The Sinarsky District Court of Kamensk-Uralsky considered the investigator's petition and ordered Chepalov Z.V. to be held in custody as a preventive measure until January 13, 2026.
In the course of the preliminary investigation, the man is accused under Part 1 of Article 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transport, shipment or carrying of weapons") and Part 1 of Article 222.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transport of explosive substances or explosive devices").
