A Yekaterinburg journalist published a conversation with the father who had a young teacher convicted
15 November 2025
Yekaterinburg journalist and former war correspondent for URA.RU Andrey Guselnikov was able to speak by phone with the father of an eighth-grader after the incident that earned young physics teacher Sergey Perminov a "wolf ticket." Reflecting on the conversation, Guselnikov published a post with strong condemnation of the parent's actions.
From the conversation it is clear that the father does not even remotely entertain the thought that he might have been wrong in deciding to take the matter to criminal court. At least, in his talk with Andrey Guselnikov the man continued to insist that his son was absolutely not guilty of anything.
The father also rejected statements, supported by witnesses, that the boy cursed the teacher with obscene language (witnesses say that when Perminov, who at that moment was standing with his back to the class, asked a question, the pupil clearly said that he was the one who swore; in addition, a video recording was being made in the classroom).
Guselnikov's interlocutor believes that in any situation he must defend his child, especially since he raised him himself (this follows from the man's words).
"Who told you that he swears at teachers? You journalists. That's all from Perminov's words. It's not proven anywhere, it's not stated in court. It's all just talk," the eighth-grader's father told Guselnikov. "And if someone blurted something, it's not a fact that it was my son."
Moreover, the man's words indicate that even if his son did use profanity toward the teacher, Perminov is to blame for that too — he was the first to throw the pen that hit his child.
Reflecting on the conversation, the journalist admitted that he was stunned by the position taken by this adult man, a recipient of the Order of Courage and the Medal "For Courage." By raising his own child poorly, he has already ruined the future lives of the teacher's children, who, because of their father's criminal record, will not be accepted into the civil service, Andrey Guselnikov believes. "Because of what? Because of a scratch and an abrasion on your child's neck? Seriously?"
Recall that the incident occurred this spring at Yekaterinburg School No. 123. The young physics teacher Sergey Perminov was forced to leave the profession in which he was taking his first steps and making mistakes because he tried to remove from the classroom an eighth-grader who was disrupting the lesson and being rude. To do this he used physical force. After hearing about the incident at school from the boy and his wife, the head of the family did everything to have the teacher criminally charged.
The trial, held in September, sentenced the 24-year-old teacher to 1.5 years of corrective labor with part of his earnings deducted to the state budget, ordered him to pay a large monetary compensation to the victim, and deprived him of the right to work in schools. Now the teacher installs intercom systems. The "Russian Community" collected the amount for the teacher to pay the compensation to the student. The appellate court left the sentence unchanged.
