The administration of Yekaterinburg is preparing to dismantle another pedestrian underpass. At the site of the tunnel at 8b Sibirsky Trakt an elevated pedestrian structure is planned to be erected — its construction is scheduled for the next three years.
According to the municipal improvement program, the demolition of the pedestrian underpass must be completed by the end of 2028. This information is stated in the territory development forecast for 2026–2028, which was obtained by 66.RU.
Originally, the tunnel was planned to be removed before 2025, but the deadlines were postponed.
Earlier it emerged that construction of a tunnel across the Iset River in central Yekaterinburg had been postponed.
