Two people in a car bearing license plates from the Sverdlovsk Region became victims of a road accident that occurred tonight in the Tukaevsky District of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The crash happened at 02:35 at kilometer 1,071 of the M-7 "Volga" highway, the Traffic Police Department of the Republic of Tatarstan reports on its Telegram channel.
According to preliminary information, the 33-year-old driver of a Toyota failed to choose a safe speed and struck a Valdai truck that had been stationary following an earlier accident. The truck was partially on the shoulder.
As a result, the driver and a passenger of the Toyota died at the scene.
The Prosecutor's Office of Tatarstan reports that the passenger car bore registration plates from the Sverdlovsk Region.
According to the agency, icy conditions were observed on the republic’s roads during the night hours.
