Dangerous minced meat has made it onto the shelves of Sverdlovsk stores.
The sale of minced meat containing Listeria has been detected in stores in Sverdlovsk Oblast, the EAN news agency reports.
The "Domashny" minced meat, a sample of which tested positive for Listeria, was identified by specialists from Rosselkhoznadzor in a semi-finished products production workshop during an inspection, EAN quoted Natalya Saifulina, press secretary of the Ural Interregional Directorate of Rosselkhoznadzor, as saying.
The workshop where the mince was produced is not registered in the FGIS "Mercury", and veterinary accompanying documents for the products are absent, EAN writes.
The manufacturer of the product is LLC "MPK" from the Agapovsky municipal district of Chelyabinsk Oblast.
Food becomes contaminated with Listeria mainly during production and storage. Listeria are quickly killed at high temperatures (boiling for 3 minutes).
Listeria is a microorganism widely distributed in the external environment — in water, soil, and plants. These bacteria particularly favor humus. Listeria is an intracellular parasite; it usually enters the human body through the intestines and, via the bloodstream, reaches other organs and tissues.
