Residents of Sverdlovsk Oblast can now confirm their age when purchasing goods in stores using a digital ID built into the Max messenger. This was reported by the regional Department of Information Policy. The Minister of the Agro-Industrial Complex and Consumer Market, Anna Kuznetsova, noted that the new service simplifies the process for both sellers and buyers. Max-ID is now available in more than 260 local convenience stores and 31 Magnit hypermarkets in Yekaterinburg, as well as in 36 Pyaterochka stores across the region. To use the age verification feature, you need to update the Max and Gosuslugi apps to the latest versions and create a digital identifier. The digital ID is equivalent to traditional documents and is suitable not only for age verification but also, for example, for proving student status or that you are a parent with multiple children, the Sverdlovsk authorities note.
