      Today the Verkh-Isetsky District Court of Yekaterinburg issued a verdict in the criminal case against Andrey Karpov, the former head of the criminal investigation department of Police Precinct No. 10 of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Yekaterinburg.

      Karpov admitted his guilt and entered into a pre-trial cooperation agreement. The court sentenced Andrey Karpov to a suspended sentence of 4 years' imprisonment with a 4-year probationary period, deprived him of the right to hold positions in state authorities and law enforcement agencies related to the exercise of the functions of a representative of authority for a period of 3 years, and stripped him of his special rank — senior lieutenant of police.
