The Yekaterinburg court granted the Prosecutor General's second claim against Bykov and Bobrov for the recovery of assets.

The Leninsky District Court of Yekaterinburg granted the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation’s second suit against businessmen Alexey Bobrov and Artem Bikov seeking forfeiture of assets to the state. This was reported from the courtroom by Interfax and RIA Novosti.

At the prosecutor’s request, the court session was closed to the media due to information containing commercial secrets. “Claims granted,” the judge announced the decision handed down on the suit.

The second suit was brought by the Prosecutor General’s Office against businessmen and beneficiaries of “STS Corporation” Alexey Bobrov, Artem Bikov, Tatyana Chernykh, former CEO of JSC “Oblkommunenergo” (transferred to the state under the first suit) Dmitry Budanov, and former deputy governor of Sverdlovsk Oblast Oleg Chemezov. They also appeared as individual defendants in the Prosecutor General’s first suit, which was granted by the Leninsky District Court of Yekaterinburg on October 10.

The second suit was filed with the same court on October 28. It concerns assets of “STS Corporation” in Tyumen Oblast, the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug – Yugra, and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.

Bobrov, Chernykh and Chemezov are in custody on charges of large-scale fraud committed by a group, while Budanov is wanted by federal authorities under an article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, Bikov and Bobrov, using the patronage of officials responsible for housing and communal services, unlawfully seized the state enterprise Oblkommunenergo, forming from it the production complex of “STS Corporation” and monopolizing the provision of utilities in the Ural Federal District, and then transferred the holding’s income of 12 billion rubles abroad. The suit named about 40 companies as defendants; almost all of them have so far been forfeited to the Russian Federation, RIA Novosti writes.
