A fatal accident occurred last night in Yekaterinburg. The tragedy happened on November 29 on Vostochnaya Street at around 5:00 p.m., the Russian Traffic Police Directorate for the Sverdlovsk Region reported.
According to preliminary information, a Nissan struck a woman who was crossing the roadway at an undesignated spot. This occurred in the immediate vicinity of an equipped underground pedestrian crossing.
The woman died at the scene from injuries sustained in the incident. The identity of the deceased is being established.
The Nissan was being driven by a 37-year-old local resident with 18 years of driving experience. A medical examination found no signs of alcohol intoxication in the driver.
An investigation is underway to determine all the circumstances of the traffic accident.
