Minister of Labor: Over the next seven years, Russia will need 12 million workers.

According to the new Ministry of Labor forecast, up to and including 2032 (that is, over the next seven years) about 1.7 million people need to be brought into Russia's economy each year (over seven years this is 11.9 million people — ed. Uralweb.ru). This was reported by the head of the agency, Anton Kotyakov, Interfax reports.

The staffing requirement consists of the need for specialists for new (being created) jobs and for replacing workers who are retiring.

"The total replacement need for seven years amounts to 12.2 million workers, including 11.7 million to replace employees leaving due to retirement and about 500,000 — employees needed by the economy in connection with the creation of additional jobs," Kotyakov said on Wednesday at the plenary session of the All‑Russian Personnel Forum.

A seven‑year forecast of labor market needs has been created in the Russian Federation for the first time. According to Kotyakov, the source of data for calculating replacement needs was changed, which improved the accuracy of the estimates. Some 330,000 companies (employers) with a combined headcount of 23 million employees were surveyed.

About 1.7 million people need to be brought into the economy each year, Kotyakov said. This is less than in the previous forecast, which covered five years and was presented at the beginning of the year. According to it, about 11 million workers would need to be replaced by 2030 (or 2.2 million people per year).
