In the Sverdlovsk Region more than half of enterprises in the housing and utilities sector are operating at a loss, the portal 66.RU reports, citing data from Sverdlovskstat.
Thus, among companies engaged in electricity and gas supply, more than 69% are in the red, while in the water supply, sewerage and waste collection and disposal segment — 53.7%.
The total amount of losses reached 5.5 billion rubles — five times more than at the beginning of the year, when the figure stood at 1.1 billion.
Until July the situation remained stable, but in the following months losses rose sharply and reached record highs.
