A woman from Sverdlovsk was sentenced to a real prison term for getting schoolgirls drunk.
The Krasnoufimsk District Court sentenced a local 21-year-old resident, Halimova, to 4 years and 2 months in a general-regime penal colony for systematically involving teenage girls in alcohol consumption, the joint press service of the courts of the Sverdlovsk Region reports.
The court found that Halimova regularly supplied alcohol to schoolgirls born in 2009 and 2011. The drinks included beer, cider, alcoholic cocktails and vodka. The defendant enjoyed authority, so a relationship of trust developed between her and the girls. Alcohol consumption took place both in her home and in a car.
The defendant pleaded guilty and expressed remorse. However, the court, taking into account the systematic nature and severity of the offenses, sentenced her to 4 years and 2 months in a general-regime penal colony.
Earlier it was reported that a special commission would consider where residents of Yekaterinburg will be able to buy alcohol.
