Non-local "passenger" jailed for fifteen days for drunken brawl at Koltsovo

      Officers of the Line Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia at Koltsovo Airport detained and brought to administrative responsibility for disturbing the public order a 49-year-old resident of Voronezh, the press service of the Transport Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Ural Federal District said yesterday.

      On Sunday, December 21, a message was received at the duty unit of the Line Department at Koltsovo that a police squad was needed in Terminal A (domestic flights — ed. note Uralweb). The transport police officers who arrived on the scene found that the complaint had been caused by the behavior of one of the men. He used coarse obscene language and did not respond to remarks from those around him. By outward signs the troublemaker appeared to be intoxicated.

      After the citizen did not respond to the police’s demands to stop his disorderly conduct, he was detained and taken to the duty unit of the Line Department. The offender refused to undergo an examination to determine his state of intoxication.

      As the detainee explained, he had arrived at the airport to buy plane tickets. The man is not officially employed. This year he had already been subjected to administrative penalties under Article 6.24 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (Violation of the ban on smoking in certain places), Article 20.25 (Evasion of execution of an administrative penalty) and Article 20.1 (Minor hooliganism). For the latter — very recently, on December 9.

      Koltsovo Line Department law enforcement officers drew up an administrative report against the Voronezh resident under the same article (Article 20.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation). Taking into account the previous offense, the court sentenced him to 14 days of administrative arrest. He spent 24 hours prior to the court hearing in a special holding cell for detainees.
