Sverdlovsk Railway has scheduled additional trains on the "Evening Yekaterinburg" route.
The Sverdlovsk Railway has scheduled additional runs of the retro train "Ural Express." The decision was made to meet increased demand from residents and visitors of Yekaterinburg for tourist trips during the New Year holidays, the Sverdlovsk Railway press service said.
On the weekends of December 27–28 and from January 3 to 10 (except January 7), the "Ural Express" will run twice a day.
By day — from Yekaterinburg-Passazhirsky station to the Verkhnyaya Pyshma stop (to the museum) and back; in the evening — on a circular route around the Ural capital.
Both routes include a lengthy stop at Shuvakish station, where a station building and platform have been constructed in a historic style and a buffet operates. Special photo zones have been arranged for passengers, including in the station master's office. The furniture and interiors are styled after the late 19th century.
Additional circular runs on the "Evening Yekaterinburg" route will also be organized on December 24–26, 29, 30 and January 2.
For passengers on both services on December 28, the Sverdlovsk Railway has prepared New Year's surprises, games and greetings on board.
Tickets can be purchased at long-distance ticket offices, on the JSC "RZD" website and in the "RZD Passengers" app. When purchasing, you must indicate the departure station as Yekaterinburg-Passazhirsky and the arrival station as Yekaterinburg-Tourist. All types of concessions apply, as well as special fare plans that reduce the cost of travel.
In 2025 the retro train won the Grand Prix at the All‑Russian tourism awards "Route of the Year."
