Traffic police officers assisted a family who were stranded on a winter night on the highway in a broken-down car, the Main Directorate for Road Traffic Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Sverdlovsk Region reports.

The prompt assistance to the family whose vehicle had broken down was provided recently during a patrol of the Yekaterinburg–Nizhny Tagil–Serov highway.

At about 21:30, a traffic police (DPS) crew with board number 35-155 found a car on the roadside with its hazard lights on and an emergency stop sign displayed.

Stopping to check, the crew (composed of senior inspector, Senior Police Lieutenant Ivan Konovalov; inspector, Junior Police Sergeant Igor Artamonov; and inspector, Junior Police Sergeant Leonid Antropov) found that the vehicle, carrying passengers en route from Yekaterinburg to Nizhny Tagil, had suffered a major breakdown and could not continue.

The traffic officers immediately called a tow truck to transport the faulty vehicle and invited the family into the patrol car so they could wait for assistance in comfortable and safe conditions.
